Five Questions with Jake Kilroy

Books! Croquet! Death! Work asked me some radical questions, and I answered 'em radically. Scope it: 5 Questions with a C5er: Jake Kilroy

1 Million Views in 36 Hours

I think this video technically stands as the biggest thing I've ever worked on, and I just wrote a few lines of copy. It hit 1 million views within 36 hours, and I couldn't be prouder of everyone at work (as this is our first commercial spot). Hot damn, our generation's nostalgic.

Where I Work: A Photo Essay

I've always liked the people I work with at any job I've ever had, and I've held positions at a restaurant, a warehouse, a business magazine, and an online small business advertisement firm, so there's been a good variety in my employment history. But, now at a creative ad agency, I spent 2012 working with people I like for people I like. This is a much different thing, as, up until this gig, I had never had head honchos that proved they were consistently making good decisions for the employees as well as the company. In turn, the culture here is, and always has been, kind of bonkers (especially when you compare it to the cubicle farms of America). So, once again, through the power of Instagram's web profiles, I've lifted pictures for you, this time to scope out our office and the goof-havery we have here.

Happy Halloween!

Here's a picture of everyone who dressed up for work today. If you thought Walter won Halloween as the mariachi guy, I couldn't agree more. Also, Mad dressed as The Driver from Drive, so I obviously broke into a few cars with her, since you can see me in the back in my very lazy costume (of temporary tattoos and baseball bat), Menacing Jake Kilroy.

Infographics: The Power Of Visual Storytelling

Hey all, the cofounders of Column Five wrote a rad book about infographics (that comes out September 4th). They did a hell of a job, and they were nice enough to include me and my eternally uneven sideburns on the cover. They're swell dudes, and I'd be all sorts of thankful if you could light up them social sharing buttons (Like, Pin, etc) at the bottom of this here book page. Thumbs up.

No Soliciting

The folks at work put me in charge of writing our no soliciting sign, which I thought was pretty swell of them. Design by Alicia. Photo by Nick.

My First Work Mixtape

Column Five has started doing up weekly playlists, and I scored the rad job of being in charge of them. They were also nice enough to let me go first. Dig it: The C5 Mixtape, Volume 1: I Got Five On It.
